Whats is the (C) in the naming of the models?

Hello there. I noticed when I downloaded a firmware for my DS-7604NI-K1/4P that it says the firmware is for the DS-7604NI-K1/4P (C) model. I also noticed that for my camera, DS-2CD2086IU. There is also the same camera but with (C) at the end.

Can I use the firmwares for the (C) models on my non (C) models?
