Do NVRs that are not described as "embedded" need to hook up to a PC to do their processing or other functions?
For example, on the HikVision USA Plug & Play NVR page (http://overseas.hikvision.com/us/products_10649.html):
DS-7616NI-E2/16P Embedded Plug & Play NVR $336
DS-7716NI-SP/16 DS-7700NI-SP Series NVR $552
There are a number of differences between these units, both are in the 'value' line, but I can't see the purpose of one over the other.
Or for that matter, the difference between these two 16 channel NVRs and the bottom line 16 channel NVR in their professional series, the DS-9616NT-ST, which is $2500.
