what are the steps involved in taking a .brv file and turning it into youtube clip?

I keep seeing posting of camera clips on youtube and I'm wondering what software and the steps I take to get create a short snippet for youtube. I searched the forums but I get too many hits on convert / youtube.

Most are probably just doing a clip export and doing AVI or MP4 as the file type.

Yep, just export from BI as a MP4, and upload to the tube.
Be sure to read the Blue Iris help about export settings.
