Hi Everybody,
I’ve been a happy owner of a VTO2202F-P for several years now, and I’ve been using the DMSS Android app (previously gDMSS) to manage it.

Recently, I noticed an issue: when I use the device intercom (microphone feature in the app), I can’t hear anything from my VTO2202F-P.
Everything else seems to work fine.
On the Android app, I can view the video stream and hear the person at the door, I can even unlock the door.
On the VTO device, I can hear the ringing and my voice coming through the speaker. However, I’m no longer able to communicate through the intercom like I used to.

This feature used to work perfectly, but it stopped functioning a couple of months ago, around the same time I switched from the old app to DMSS.

I’ve tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps:
  • Reinstall the app on my own phone
  • Installed DMSS on a different phones
  • Rebooted the VTO multiple times
  • Reset the VTO to factory defaults
  • Upgraded the VTO to the latest firmware

Unfortunately, none of these solved the problem.

I’m out of ideas at this point, any suggestions on what might be going wrong or how to fix it?

Thanks for any assistance

I noticed this in the past as well: Problem was caused by some "security" on my android, prohibiting the app to have access to the mic.
After allowing this, dmss was working fine again.

For anyone interested, I finally figured out the issue.
Around the same time I switched to the app, I also changed the VTO device’s IP address from the default 192.168.1.111 to a different one (just pure coincidence)
It turns out that simply changing the IP address isn’t enough, you also need to update the SIP server configuration to match the new IP address. (By default, the SIP server address remains set to 192.168.1.111, even after you change the main IP of your VTO)
Once I updated the SIP server configurations to the correct address, everything worked perfectly!

I hope this helps somebody, it took me quite some time to figure it out.
