Hi there,
I have a DHI-VTO2311R-WP which I recently purchased, but have not yet installed. I have questions about the setup, and chime options.
I understand it cannot directly use a mechanical chime, without some modifications. So I am trying to determine the best installation to provide the doorbell function, while remaining affordable.
I assume I power it from my POE Enabled Dahua NVR? If it is connected to the NVR is the NVR able to record as if it were a regular IPCamera, while still retaining doorbell functionality.
Is it possible to use an iPad/tablet mounted on a wall as a monitor, or is a Dahua video monitor required? Is one preferred?
According to the dahua wiki, it is a Gen3 doorbell, would it work with a Gen2 VTH? They can be found relatively cheaply. The Gen3 stations are fairly spendy.
Thanks for the help!
