Has anyone ever setup a PIR networked or USB to trigger a camera and send an alert message? I have bee looking around and so far i have not found enough information to even purchase the needed equipment.

Jedi, I have some insteon equipment. They make a PIR module that could be placed anywhere and then with an insteon low voltage contact output, you could trigger with the cameras contact input like Holiday mentioned above. Your PIR module could then be anywhere. This would also work with a nvr's contact input.
