We may not be a native species and there's the old Sumerians who wrote that they were told the origins of mankind; that being humans are an engineered species. Not to upset anyone who literally believes the Old Testament but I always thought of the Old Testament as the
cliff notes or water coloring book version of fact such that it was digestible to your typical person back in the day. There is the question of why it seems that pound for pound and ounce for ounce humans are by far the most frail and weak of all critters on the planet. I mean ants put us to shame when it comes to strength. LOL
