Hi -

So I was one the dumb ones that blindly updated this firmware to 5.3.0 (DS-2x12,2x32_v5.3.0_150513.zip which I got off ftp.hikvisionusa.com). Suddenly I couldn't find camera on network anymore using SADP or web interface. So I followed the unbricking thread here (minus mtd5 and mtd6 since I never backed anything up before I flashed):
https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/3408-HIKVISION-mtd-Brick-Recovery-Guide

By the way, for reference, my GUI previously showed V5.2.5 build 141201, and the box shows V5.3.0_150423.

TFTP Seemed to work using the 5.2.5 dav file from above post, here's the log:
[2015-11-11 21:59:58] TFTP server [192.0.0.128] initialized
[2015-11-11 22:00:48] Device[192.0.0.64]test tftpserver
[2015-11-11 22:00:54] Connect client success [192.0.0.64]Success
[2015-11-11 22:00:54] Start file transmitting[C:\Temp\Auto Update\digicap.dav]
[2015-11-11 22:01:15] Completed file[C:\Temp\Auto Update\digicap.dav] transmit
[2015-11-11 22:01:32] Device[192.0.0.64]system update completed!

When I run SADP however, I get nothing showing up. I can ping 192.0.0.64 from my 192.0.0.128 pc, but I get no web interface on 192.0.0.64. I also for the heck of it tried setting my PC to 192.168.1.128 in hopes the camera was showing up on 192.168.1.64. But I couldn't find it there either.

So then I tried this custom firmware which was recommended I think by someone in thread above:
https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/4036-Custom-Firmware-Downgrader-5-3-0-Chinese-to-5-2-5-English?highlight=downgrader

It came with it's own TFTP that I used instead of one above, here's the log:
[2015-11-11 22:17:11] TFTP server[192.0.0.128] initialized
[2015-11-11 22:17:26] Device[192.0.0.64] test tftpserver
[2015-11-11 22:17:33] Connect client[192.0.0.64] success
[2015-11-11 22:17:33] Start file[C:\Temp\5.30 Downgrader\digicap.dav] transmitting
[2015-11-11 22:17:55] Completed file[C:\Temp\5.30 Downgrader\digicap.dav] transmit
[2015-11-11 22:18:15] Device[192.0.0.64] system update completed!

This is the 2nd time I tried the custom one, and I swear the first time I could see the camera in SADP but it showed that 192.0.0.64 IP and wouldn't let me change it. This time nothing shows up in SADP

If it makes any difference, top led on camera is solid red, middle is not lit, and bottom flashes yellow at various intervals.

I'm running out of ideas!!! Any advice anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated as to what I should try next.

UPDATE: It took a while, but it did show up in SADP under 192.0.0.64, then oddly in iVMS under the old custom IP it was on before I started all this, and I can now get at the GUI....although it's in Chinese but I can figure that part out.

Thanks for all the great info here!!

That sounds like it worked, did you give it enough time after you down powered the camera.

I was also the dumbest person to upgrade the firmware to 5.3.0 from 5.2.5 for DS-2CD2632 camera. The rebooting took forever and did not complete. Now I could not see this camera on SADP.

From the messages above, the camera can be unbricked using the TFTP. Where can I download the TFTP? I am new to this process.
