Hello, fairly new setup with BI with a few Hosafe cameras. I have BI running on an HP laptop (i5 with quicksync), ssd, and 16gb of ram. The problem I'm running into is that after a few minutes of running, the streaming of the cameras will get jumpy and the FPS drops. If I reboot, they are again smooth and running at 25FPS, but drops down again after a few minutes. Please let me know what other information I can provide to help troubleshoot as I know this is pretty bare bones information.

Thanks!
Jeff

wifi?

No, all 3 cameras are hard wired to an HP Procurve 2520 POE switch. The laptop is also connected to that same switch.

I just rebooted it, so it is of course running fine. I'll check a little later to see if it has changed. The cpu right now is sitting at 20 to 25%.

Started having the issue last night and the CPU was hovering around 12 to 20%. Checked again today and now it is fine even though it hasn't rebooted. I need to do some looking, but I'm wondering if it is a switch utilization issue. Will update if I come up with anything.

Still having the issue even after putting a different switch in. Here is an example of what I see: Let me know what you think. CPU usage sits around 11 to 15%.

I have one Hosafe camera and while not the exact issue, I have had problems. My camera reboots itself ever 90 seconds or so. Didn't realize this for a few months and had 14,000 connection issues logged on my recoding software. I emailed the company thru Amazon and did not hear a response. I'll be curious to see if you get any resolution from Hosafe.

So you think it is the camera and not a BlueIris server/computer issue? I just find it weird that it is fine for a while after I reboot the server, but then eventually starts doing this. CPU usage is low, so it doesn't seem like it is a CPU issue.

I see. I have 1 that is similar, but all 3 of mine are POE and don't need the adapter/injectors. I just don't understand why these cameras are butter smooth in their terrible CMS software but glitchy like this in BlueIris. I understand they are super cheap, but that was the appeal and figured I would give them a chance.

Are the recordings OK? Or just the live view?

And if it wasn't for this issue I would absolutely buy a few more of these for something I want to watch that isn't all that important.... But I can't deal with only viewing 75% of the time. Takes about 30 seconds to reboot itself every 90 seconds or so.

I actually have their included power adapter powering my Dahua 5231 Starlight in the Hosafe's spot and its been fine for a few weeks so I'm certain it's not the power.

Hello, just wanted to write a last update for anyone who may visit this thread in the future. For the heck of it, I borrowed a computer from work (HP ProDesk 600 G2) that has an i5-6500 cpu in it. I've had it running BI for around 5 days now with ZERO issues. Turns out the issues I have been having are all related to the laptop I've been running BI on. I'm watching a few computers on eBay now, but will likely be picking up an Optiplex 3040 with an i5-6500 cpu in it. Thanks for all of the comments and suggestions.
