I have a Lorex NVR N861 series. On the back are two RCA jacks . The top one is labeled out and the bottom is labeded in. In the manual it shows a picture of speakers plugged into the out jack and a microphone plugged into the in jack. I tried hooking up two different self powered computer speakers to the out jack and got very low audio through the speakers with the volume turned up all the way. What i am trying to do is hear the sounds picked up from a selected camera and also being able to talk through a camera outside with a microphone from my nvr desk position. what do i need to get this going.nvr.jpg

The RCA jack does two functions:
  1. From DMSS app: click any camera video > Mic button > 'Talk with device'. This should output to the Output RCA jack.
  2. From the NVR's web interface, clicking the mic icon on a camera allows you to hear the camera's microphone and using a mic input into the NVR allows you to talk through to the RCA output's speaker.
Think of it like an intercom to someone that is at the NVR's monitor.
The audio output on the RCA jack is also the same audio sent to the HDMI output.
Annoyingly, (at least on mine) I cannot use the RCA mic input to output to a camera's built in speaker.
Broadcast groups in the NVR's settings I have no clue how to get them to work.
