Have been thinking about how to make my system more reliable. I have made the following changes, wanted to hear if these are good ideas and if there are other things I can do
1) Replaced my non solid copper (CCA) wire with solid copper wire
2) Heat sealed my connections to cameras
3) Installed POE extenders for all my runs over 300 ft
These steps are helping. Were they good ideas? Are there other similar upgrades I can make? I still am getting a bit of spotty coverage on my 24 cam setup with about 10 runs that are over 400 ft.
*my POE extenders are bv-tech singe port gigabit POE+ Extender from amazon
**my solid copper ethernet cables are monoproce 1000ft 24AWG Cat53 350MHz UTP solid from amazon as well
