So if a Zebra escapes from the Zoo and runs across my lawn the AI won't trigger?

Or a tree falls on my car? Or a motorcycle drives across my lawn? Or a bouncy house or porta-potty blows by? Or an alien spacecraft?

What if I just want to ignore wind and shadows but not everything else?

No model for "significant but unknown object?"

While the AI of the camera is limited to vehicle and human, with AI and BI, you can certainly filter on many of those.

Deepstack for example can identify the following:

person, bicycle, car, motorcycle, airplane,
bus, train, truck, boat, traffic light, fire hydrant, stop_sign,
parking meter, bench, bird, cat, dog, horse, sheep, cow, elephant,
bear, zebra, giraffe, backpack, umbrella, handbag, tie, suitcase,
frisbee, skis, snowboard, sports ball, kite, baseball bat, baseball glove,
skateboard, surfboard, tennis racket, bottle, wine glass, cup, fork,
knife, spoon, bowl, banana, apple, sandwich, orange, broccoli, carrot,
hot dog, pizza, donot, cake, chair, couch, potted plant, bed, dining table,
toilet, tv, laptop, mouse, remote, keyboard, cell phone, microwave,
oven, toaster, sink, refrigerator, book, clock, vase, scissors, teddy bear,
hair dryer, toothbrush.

And you can always train a model for something else you may expect to see.

I don't expect to see most of those. No wine glasses, cakes, or apples.

So then you only put in the "to confirm" box the ones you are interested in.

So there are all these specific objects like "person" and "truck" but no "generic real object" that would differentiate between something real and the false triggers due to headlights, wind and shadows?

Blue iris will certainly trigger depending on your settings. Generally, you want to over trigger even if there are false positives, you should be using AI to limit alerts.

Can I train a new model to detect arbitrary real objects that will ignore moving shadows from car headlights or wind -blown tree branches?

Yes you can. You will always get better results training a model with images from your field of view. Most don't have to do that as the custom models work for them.

But if you check the box to ignore stationary items that should knock out most of those issues from static items.
