I like having alerts sent to an email I have setup for alerts but when it rains or snows real hard it sends hundreds of emails for alerts. I have the sensitivity on the settings turned most of the way down but it still alerts. What does everyone do about the snow and rain blowing into your cameras?

Yeah rain and snow can be problematic when infrared is being used, but cameras with AI can do a good job at knocking it out, as can external IR with the camera IR turned off.

Are you using Smart Plan with IVS for AI filters?

Do you have BI alerting you for BI motion or just camera motion?

Post screenshots of your camera settings. If you can't knock it out from within the camera, then you do it with AI in BI.

Go into the camera and set up smart plan with IVS, then go to the IVS screen and draw IVS rules (tripwire or intrusion box) and then select the AI you want it to trigger on (human or vehicle).

Then in BI, there are a few places you need to set this up in BI (assuming you already set up the IVS rules in the camera GUI):

  • In Camera configure setting check the box "Get ONVIF triggers".
  • Hit Find/Inspect on the camera setting to pull the coding for the triggers.
  • Go into Motion Setting and select the "Cameras digital input" box.
  • On the Alerts tab uncheck the Motions Zones tab (those are alerting you to any BI motion in those areas in Zones A thru H)
  • On the alerts tab set up how to be notified.

OK that is correct, now lets see the alert tab in BI, along with the motion tab.

Uncheck the boxes A thru H under the "On Alert" and then it will only trigger for the camera AI. Or you can uncheck them here as well if you only want the camera triggers to do thumbnail alerts in BI.

So keep the motion zones box checked and uncheck A-H or Just uncheck it all?
