In laws moved into a new house, previous owners have Smonet wifi cameras all around the house ,though cameras are probably garbage the location of cameras look pretty good. Owners left the cameras as it is however they took the NVR with them :( . Trying to help in laws in getting this up and running, is it possible to use BlueIris to configure SMONET cameras. I understand these are low quality cameras , just want something to get started. Cameras are wifi so not sure how BI will be able to detect as I will need to somehow reset previous configuration.

BI simply takes whatever video feed comes from the cameras, so you cannot use BI to configure Smonet cameras.

And you would have to reset the cameras first.

Since the cameras are wifi, you would have to get them on the same wifi as their router and figure out if you can even pull a video feed from them.

Time is money and given the nature of the cams, you may invest more of your time in trying to get it to work and still be unsuccessful than just buy some cheap Amcrest and be done LOL.

It appears they can work with ispy and that may be a quicker and easier cheap solution.

Several of the Smonet wireless camera systems are meant to be paired with their wireless NVR. These types of wireless NVR systems generally use an encrypted, proprietary signal between the cameras and the NVR that they took with them and the cameras will not work over your Wi-Fi. :idk::confused:
