SmartPSS vs. Blue Iris

Just got my first security camera (SD59225U-HNI) and have started testing it and learning.

Other than SmartPSS not costing anything, can anyone easily/briefly explain their preference for one vs. the other?

And yes, I do have the camera working with both of them at the moment, I just have it setup in a test station inside while I wait for the waterproof mounting box and a different bracket.

Blue Iris has many more features.
but if you just want basic recording, then Smartpss may fit the bill for you.

For me, when someone triggers motion detection, Blue Iris makes it a lot easier (and quicker) for me to remotely get back into the system and see what's going on.
