I have 4 Amcrest IP3M-943 cameras set up outside my house and connected to Amcrest Surveillance Pro. However, after two painful hours-long phone calls with technical support at Amcrest and many times those hours just reading the manual and trying toconfigure the software, I still can find no snapshots (videos not necessary) of my yard. I have a separate game camera set up so I know that persistent doe is still getting in every night despite 8' high netting and electric fencing so I am determined to find out. I just downloaded V5 of BI and plan to see if I can figure that software out any better than Surveillance Pro. Can anyone walk me through how to configure that to just save snapshots to my PC (Windows 10) overnight?

Thanks but your BI link was just to its sale page, no help file. Did you mean to send me there? I already have BI V5, and do not want to buy it until I try it.

I suspect you were using Amcrest Surveillance Pro PC-NVR to store motion detection snapshots from the camera on your PC, but that is not supported by PC-NVR. PC-NVR only supports video.
Camera motion detection snapshots can only be stored on camera SD card, FTP, or NAS. To store MD snapshots on PC, you would need to install a FTP Server on your PC like FileZilla.

But to clarify for the newb OP, that's if you were to depend on the camera only for motion detection and storage; Blue Iris can take motion detection snapshots or scheduled snapshots, save them on the PC's hard drive and e-mail them, and send via SMS or push notification to the BI smartphone/tablet app.

The camera by itself can take motion detection or timed snapshots, motion detect video, and send event emails or push notifications for phones and tablets. The snapshots and video can be stored on the camera SD card. Later, Amcrest Surveillance Pro(ASP) or Amcrest View Pro can be started to Playback the snapshots and video directly from the camera SD card. ASP can also download the camera SD card files to the PC.

I understand that, and I am also considering that the OP has stated he already has BI v5. Having used ASP and BI I am very aware of the abilities of both. I also have 4 similar Amcrest cameras and am aware of their capabilities.
The OP, in his first post on the day of his joining IPCT, stated he wants "...to just save snapshots to my PC (Windows 10) overnight."
No SD card or NAS needed with BI and I doubt that he wants "... to install a FTP Server on [his] PC like FileZilla."
I'm just saying that with BI, he needs no other hardware or software to do what he said he wanted to do....that's all.
