This is Skye. We adopted her as I have always adopted dogs. I use to do volunteer work for the SPCA in Fredericksburg VA, and enjoyed it immensely, though at times you have to wonder who really are the animals: dogs or humans. Anyways, Skye is about 3 years old, 75 pounds give or take, and just a damn good dog. She is a inside dog, but I think she would enjoy being an outside dog about as much. :) She is very well mannered, sweet, caring, very intelligent (kind of spooky at times) and has certainly house trained us! Her and my girls are BFF's and even my wife has warmed up to her. Shed's like she is self-cloning all the time, but that is what my fire-team of Roomba's are for. She is my best friend, no doubt. All I know is she mostly Shepard, and the rest don't know and don't care. She is wonderful.

Silly time...

Seriously,....where's my snack?

So on my wife's Birthday, first week of April, I had no gift purchased so I took her to go see some puppies, well she came home with her Birthday gift :) Heidi

Heidi on her way home with us, she was weaned 4 days prior. Coco, our 6 year old got jealous and had to get in my wife's lap too :)

The Breeder was actually nice enough to let us take her home before her first shots, which we did 3 days later...so she was still 5 weeks old when we got her...

After she ate :)

She is a handful, like any Pup, but to see my wife's face light up when she holds her is worth all the puppy accidents we are dealing with...

I envy those if you in a more rural setting with bigger dogs.

We’ve had to say goodbye to 2 poochers and planned on waiting till we were both retired to adopt another.

Then if you’ve read my cat story, we ended up with 3. (Not on purpose) Cats are far less needy which has suited our busy lifestyle of work and business travel.

When mom passed we ended up with a 4th, the offspring of one of the original 3.

We lost one female of the originals so we’re back to 3

The one male has his hands full and spends most days avoiding the girls. He’s on life # 7 or 8 with a lot of close calls. Tough little bugger who insists I come to bed so he can snuggle up against me every night. Getting better talking human

We have a Staffy mix, Yanks, going on six years old. We rescued her at 5 months old as the owners were going to be dumped.

Chavi is a Chihuahua puppy currently four months old. A lot of people think they are mother and son.

Little guy gets put in his place as Yanka doesn't have the energy that he does.

I have no idea how many cats we have around here. I’m guessing at least 10. Most are friendly, several very pregnant ones so that number will go up.

Cats come and go around here, they are a renewable resource.

No doubt out away from the city.

Bro in law has about 50 acres up on a mountain in Tioga county PA. Horses and some goats. Cats everywhere. Every time we visit I get introduced to a new batch. They’re good at keeping the rodents at bay

We had a neighbor's dog show up today after the thunderstorm, her collar had their phone number, they told us she gets scared with thunder and will jump the pen. What surprised us is she jumped into our pool, so maybe she just wanted to come over for a swim, lol. Out here in the country we have had 2 or 3 show up on our property, pretty much free range out here...
