Hi, I am looking for a video security system for my home that can have a list of people/cars that are not welcome on my property that can send a notification of some kind to me/wife.

My wife has a small outdoor self serve shop in the front yard and we want to create a list of unwelcome visitors onto our drive way. I have to say most people are honest and pay but we have few that do steal.
I wanted to see if I can do something about this to help her. She has been pretty down about it the past few days. I told her not to worry about it but its getting under her skin.

I always wanted to setup a BlueIris with a few cameras but never got around to it specially with the new AI tools available now. But I could not find if I could create a list of car/people that I want to block. We really dont need to know every person that comes just the individual that we dont want.

Synology Deep Learning NVR DVA3221 seem to have something like what I want does anyone have any experience with it?

Thanks in advance for any ideas you may have with Blueiris or any other device.

There are some guys who use a license recognition software with Blue iris, apparently it will send a notification if a Specific plate come through, I think it's Open ALPR but I have not tried it.
It may have a subscription fee as well.
I learned this past week from a former Repo Man, that they use a similar network to get alerted when a particular plate shows up.

would be easy with plates,
but face ?? no way. From where do plan to get good pictures of your enemies for the learning? Even then face recognition is not working good... you need special mounted cameras to get good results

Many of the AI NVRs have that capability.

OpenALPR has that ability for plates.

BI in conjunction with DeepStack Integration has that capability for faces/humans (but more novelty at this point regarding faces) and Plate Recognizer Integration for plates has that capability.

However, keep in mind that most of us have found in home settings that facial recognition is more gimmicky and novelty than anything else. If you have to put in 5 or 10 or 15 pictures of yourself in the NVR or DeepStack for it to recognize it is you...then you shouldn't expect much....

It can work in certain situations like a business that requires everyone to stop in front of the camera and the camera is at head height. Outside of that, the percentage of being accurate is probably not going to be super high.

Unless you spend the big bucks that casinos and airports have LOL.

But if everyone that is coming in parks their car in the driveway, the plate reading can be really accurate. My system will send me a text if any plate that I marked as suspicious comes past. Of course that means the plate had to have come past before and I have a reason to be suspicious of it.

Heck even in ideal situations like a business with the camera at ideal height and optimal lighting it fails....

To do that with any level of reliability using AI takes some very serious computer power and expensive software. Blue Iris with DeepStack, while fun to work with, is not at that kind of level.
