Ever went to Yum Yum resturant and tried their secrete sauce? It contains rat sebum.

My guess is that the rats were provided for the video. He dumped them out and then caught them using the trap. The number of rats that seem to appear at once out of nowhere is too much of a coincidence. Plus the number of rats was too perfect as well - a large enough number to seem overwhelming, but not too many that rats would eventually pile up and reach the hole to climb out.
