It's like watching a pinball game .. the red vixen makes the mistake of 'running' into the communal area, and gets bounced around for it. She has a great spirit though, and is a lovable animal, but the greys aren't so keen on her energy. :slap:

This capture was within the past 12 hrs on the 2.8mm Color4K-X..

It's been a bit of a sad fall with these guys. There is a male in the greys who's mate, one of our regulars for over half a decade disappeared late fall never to return and the adult vixen in these greys seems to have lost her mate in a similar time frame. At the same time the kit from the one family were dispersing, and so in the space of a few weeks, our numbers dropped from 12 down to what you see here. There have been reports of several predators in the area (bobcat, lynx and cougar) so they may likely have been run down by one of them. The greys can climb, but they still have to make it to a tree, and that isn't even much good if the one on their 6 can climb just as well, if not a lot better.

It may be this drop in numbers that has the 2 grey kit in the video sticking around so far, versus dispersing like all the rest. It's a dicey time for all of them, but we're hoping their mates either return, or they go looking for new mates and stay in the dens they established some time ago.
