Record RSTP Stream using Dahua NVR

I have searched google and the forums, but I cannot find an answer.
I have a Wyze Cam V3 flashed with RTSP firmware.
The camera outputs a RTSP stream and I can view the stream using VLC media player, but I cannot get my Dahua NVR to add the camera stream.
The stream format is "rtsp:/user:secret@xxx.xxx.xx.xxx/live"
Does anyone know if it is possible to make this work?
The NVR model is: DHI-NVR4108HS-4KS2/L
Any help would be appreciated, as I have tried everything.

In the manually add camera section of the NVR if you have an option under protocol for custom then you should be able to add it there.
On some newer firmware for some models it has been removed in which case you are stuck likely stuck.

Camera registration > Manual add > Customised.




Take out the username and password from the URL, and change it to rtsp:/ip/live
Then put the username/password in the other fields.

You also need to find the substream URL of your camera.
You could use the same main-stream RTSP stream for both 'main stream' and 'sub stream', however your NVR may not be able to decode this when viewing more than 4 camera (it will appear as black).
