Would the experts on this forum recommend a NUC running Milestone connected to a NAS? If so, any recommendations on models would be greatly appreciated. All 8 cameras will be 5MP recording on motion.

Note the 5mp cameras are generally terrible in low light...
Nuc's are way over priced and local recording is always best so get a machine that can hold a 3.5 drive...
if you insist on a small machine, look at the lenovo tiny (some can actually hold a 3.5 drive) and dell/hp small machines...much better value than any nuc.
