Hi,

I am looking for an outdoor camera with WiFi capability. I have read the forum and know it's better to use wired, but it's for a friend of mine. I have also read that the Hikvision DS-2CD2532F-IWS should be good. Is it still the best wireless cam? I also wants to make sure I get a power supply unit/adapter with my cam.

Thanks in advance....

2CD2532F-IWS has weaker ir than the other hikvision cameras...where is the camera being mounted?

The cam is located outside the garage, and there isn't any router or switch nearby to make it a wired connection. So it has to be wireless, but there is connection for a power supply. Which cam would you recommend?

Is there light on at night?
Another option is using a powerline adapter or use a wifi bridge so you can use any camera such is the 2332 turret....

There is a light with motion sensor some 2m from the cam location, but if we remove the requirement for wifi, will the 2332 turret be the best option?

If all you need is video, no audio or sd card, yes the 2332 is best...If its pitch black in the area you might want to consider a 1.3 mp turret like the 2312 because they are better in low light/night..

audio might not be important, but an option for sd card could be useful. Does the 2312 turret have an sd card slot?

I have read the thread for the 2132. As I understand the 2MP version is the DS-2CD2122F-I(S)(W). This cam also has WiFi. Is this the 3 axis cam you are mentioning?

Make sure you survey the garage and make sure there is a good wifi signal. No matter if you use a bridge or built into the camera, you will want to make sure there is a good signal in the garage. If the garage power is on the same breaker panel as the rest of the house, I would try powerline adapters over wifi.

I have searched, but I can only find the DS-2CD2132F-IWS, and not the DS-2CD2122F-IWS. Has this better IR then the 2CD2532F-IWS and 2CD2512F-IWS?
