Off site DVR backup question?

Hello all,

My company has 6 different locations with a 500gb DVR at each location which currently provides them with playback access for only a few days (due to the small hard drive). The main purpose of there systems is so that management can access the live cctv feed remotely from there main office to check up on employees for safety reasons, however they are considering 2 options to allow them to record more video. Option one, upgrade to bigger hard drives on each DVR. Option two, make the smaller DVR's work by remotely backing up the dvr every few days to an off site location (their main office).

Considering this is something I have never done before (I've only done basic installs of camera systems and dvrs, set up there remote viewing, and basic troubleshooting), how difficult would this be? Any recommendations?

To shift 500Gbytes, from 6 locations, every 3 (say) days I make that a Internet (/IP) connection that has around 11Mbit upload at each site and 70ish Mbit download at the central site, all running 24/7 with no slow downs or outages. Doesnt looks economical to me! Bigger HDs at each remote location and view / control what you need remotely.
