I purchased this DVR but I am having issues configuring some things. It seems that unless you install browser add-on you are not able to configure the cameras. Does anyone has a fresh link that explains how to configure things?

You can get to the web browser through the NVR.

I tried that, but the options seem to be limited without installing the browser add on.

Without the add-ons, most of the functionality to change things is gone or limited.

That is what I thought. I have the NVR sand boxed on its own VLAN. I can throw in a VM just to configure it. The only other option would be to configure it directly? Thanks for the info, at least now I understand why I was having issues.

For older cameras you will need to use the browser added ons. The cameras may support a custom program for configuring the cameras. What is the make model number, version of the cameras.

Most cameras you can skip the added to do most of the configuration in a browser, just there will be no pictures or videos.

Use Microsoft Internet explorer (not edge) or download PALEMOON 32 bit browsers. Firefox, chrome, edge, safari do not allow plugins for security reasons so will not work to display the video from the cameras.

Generally IE works pretty good. Or try the latest Fifrefox or Pale Moon browsers
