Noted Performance Differences Between Models?

Are there any established differences between the various models, such as the model with the best night vision or best night vision distance? It is difficult to not notice some obvious differences between models -- such as the 2CD3332 having one IR illuminator while the 2CD2232 has two IR illuminators and the 2132/2032 have multiple IR LED's as illuminators.

Similarly, are there any known reliability or life-span differences between models?

Well the camera spec sheets do include different IR ranges...

I haven't heard of any reliability/life-span problems with any model. I think the main differences between the cameras are the physical appearances, IR illumination as noted in the specifications, PIR sensors are on some of the indoor models, weatherproofing on the outdoor models. Some models have built in audio and/or SD card slots.

I'm pretty sure a lot of them use the same image sensors and probably the same embedded computers.
