I was reading another topic about packets from cameras being sent back to Chinese servers which presumably means that they can gain access to our networks.

What is the best way to check to see if this is happening?

I look at my router logs to see which devices by ip are communicating where.
I don't want any cameras communicating directly, so they are blocked by MAC address and IP address via firewall rules in router, from using the Internet.
