New setup for 16 cams

Hello,

I am fairly new to this stuff. Have been reading up as much as I could.

I am trying to setup 16 cameras POE at my restaurant and would like to get input on if I should use a PC with Blue Iris or a NVR.

Trying to decide if blue iris will get me into a headache or not..


I am also trying to get a second display/monitor to show a certain camera or 2. Is that possible?

Yes, you can setup multiple displays with BI or an NVR. If you go with an NVR, keep the cameras and the NVR all the same brand. This will reduce any issues.

If you have or purchase the proper PC, Blue Iris is a great way to go. Be sure to purchase a PC with an i7 Skylake processor.

Download the free 15 day trial and try it out. It, just everything else, has a learning curve. Don't expect to get to know it in an hour or two. It takes some time.
