Just found this forum and I've been reading till my head hurts.
We've had a computer based security system for many years now and added cameras four years ago. The hardwired alarm system is quit sophisticated and really could be called partly a home automation system. its a great compliment to the cameras.
We have 13 Hik vision cameras running to a hikvision NVR. seven cameras mounted outside, six inside. there's room for three more so I'm trying to add license plate recording. AND that's why I'm here. looks to be a challenge to install
