Hi Trauts,

Please see the following post, and follow the link and check out the pixel size.

That will be one reason.

Another reason is a better designed chip whose design allows more light into the pixels. iirc there was a post on that also, have to search Starvis chip iirc.

This is a good explanation HTC explains why 4 megapixels are better than 8
Note the the dahua starlight and hikvision low light cameras have larger sensors as well...
