So I finally decided to break down and buy a NVR system. I found this one on Lorex website.
http://www.lorextechnology.com/HD-I...camera-system-with-1080p-cameras/prod420042.p
Currently on sale and discounted. Out the door its $832 to my door step.
I was told that Aliexpress would be a good place to find a cheaper alternative. I decided on Dahua as a brand to find what I wanted and found the following NVR.
NVR3104-P
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/4Ch-...er-H-264-Dahua-HDMI-NVR3104-P/1319635052.html
I also found the 8 channel for a few bucks more
NVR3108-P
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/NVR3...rder-ONVIF-HDMI-4-PoE-support/1311346598.html
I am honestly not sure what the differences are between them because they both have 4 port POE so I am guessing I would need to buy a POE switch if I wanted to expand?
Then on Aliexpress I needed to find some good cameras as I am pretty sure that the cameras are really where the money needs to be invested. I was not able to find any comparison camera to the Lorex 1080p cameras that come with the kit. As reading on the Lorex site the cameras in the kit have a 150ft night range when most cameras on Aliexpress don't even mention the night range so its hard to compare that.
So my question is should I just break down and buy the Lorex which would probably provide me with much better support over some seller on Aliexpress.. I can only see the headache of trying to get something like that returned, if its even possible. Any help with all of this would be great.
