Lorex 2K doorbell RTSP authentication

Hi, I'm trying to get RTSP working on this doorbell. I'm testing in VLC to make sure I can get it to work.
In VLC I get an RTSP authentication dialog prompting me for the username and password, but I can't get past it:

I enter the password and hit enter and this just keeps popping up until I hit Cancel.

I literally changed the password on the doorbell in the Lorex app to 'pwd12345' to make sure it wasn't the password issue.
From what I understand the default username is 'admin' and can't be changed.

The VLC log shows:

Anyone have an idea here? I'm pulling my hair out thinking this must be something really dumb that I'm missing.

(Edit: tried fixing the URL in the VLC log. it's showing and emoji instead of a ':" followed by a letter 'p')

Are you are missing the double forward slash "/ /", or is the forum BBCode stripping off the second "/" in your post?

The Lorex B451AJ is basically the same as the Amcrest AD410

1. Launch VLC
2. Ctrl-N (Cmd-N)
3. URL: "rtsp:/ /{ip address}:554/" <- added space to prevent BBCode stripping second /
4. Open
5. Username: admin
6. Password: {password}

Thanks for the response. No I wasn't missing it. Perhaps it was stripped off. VLC is finding the camera and the RTSP port, but for some reason it's not authenticating!
