To all,

Running a Windows 10 Pro Machine - Latest everything -

When I installed 5.0 and tried to run it - I get this error (attached file)

I tried downloading / installing the 32 Bit Version of the C distributables - that didn't work

I don't think the developer understands C++ redistributables well enough, or didn't test properly or something. :)

In the meantime go here to get the redistributable for VS 2015, 2017, 2019: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

You'll only need to download one thing. Get the x64 version for 64-bit BI, or the x86 version for 32-bit BI.

I also want to warn, don't jump the gun and uninstall BI 4 until BI 5 tells you to. I uninstalled BI 4 early and lost activation and apparently some config as a result. (I have backups, but still a pain in the butt)

After upgrading in what I assume was the proper order, I uninstalled BI4 and kept registry entries. Didn't lose activation, but BI did forget that it was supposed to be installed as a service. Hopefully these issues get ironed out or Ken is in for a LOT of support email.

I just did the $30 upgrade from 4 to 5. Got the key in the email. Entered it into Blue Iris 4 an restarted the program - now showed I was eligible for 5. Downloaded the full version from their website - installed without problems BUT - make sure you go into Blue Iris 4 and disable 'run as a service' before restarting your computer.

I was getting a console-service mismatch error or something because the service for 4 was still autostarting. Once I got that straightened out, v5 ran and then displayed a popup indicating I could not uninstall v4

It looks like 5 actually installs in a new separate directory from v4

Is the ui3 not working? Do I need to change something? I'm just getting a jpeg pull in the web browser

Now that I actually deleted Blue Iris 4 and corrected the web server problem that bp2008 pointed out I am receiving an error when trying to login in the web server (even on the computer running Blue Iris). It was working before I deleted 4 - I guess it was still somehow using that web server.

Looks to be something wrong with my Blue Iris Tools installation.

Does anyone have the ui web browser working? It keeps directing me to jpegpull

Sure. I export settings at every my modification. Now I'm trying to import the last one done before the upgrade, but after 3 minutes the application still does not start and using 14% cpu in task manager

kill the process after 12 minutes and start it again does not solve, so I'm still waiting with also a " very high electric consumption" notified in task manager.

I'll wait 10minutes more, than will try a clean installation removing also registry keys in windows 10x64 registry

Uninstalled v5 and cleaned windows registry from Perspective keys.
Rebooted, installed V5 and activated with V4 serial, imported the last PERFECT backup FILE.
The software closed itself, I waited about 5 minutes and started manually.
Now I'm waiting for the miracle of start...crossing fingers, cause again 15% cpu and very high electric consumption

10 minutes more after 2 months from upgrade publication??
At the moment I wasted time and money with this eligibility long tested from others.

A clean installation does not work after the import of last working version

You are confused, the upgrade was NOT published two months ago. Five weeks ago someone published a link to an UNOFFICIAL hidden link for an early build update. The release date was yesterday.
Yes you wasted money - the issues you have will never be fixed. Blue iris 5 as in the past with blue iris 4 will never work right and wont be updated, your money wasted and flushed down the toilet:rolleyes: Dam you ken.
You have updateidis, the same disease many have with camera firmware. I have over 20 blue iris machines, they will all survive two weeks before updates.
