Issue connecting remotely to WAN from APP on iOS, but can connect fine on browser

Can't quite figure this one out. This started yesterday when I noticed I had two icons for the Blueiris app on my Iphone. Have no idea why there were two. I was hoping that I could delete one, and be fine- but it took both out when I did that. I reinstalled the app, scanned the QR code in BI and could connect just fine to the LAN but no longer to the WAN. I can connect fine to the WAN just fine from my PC using the exact same url as the app (I connected to my phone as a hotspot so that it didn't connect to my LAN).

I've triple checked the settings- and cannot figure out why this is happening.

Appreciate any ideas or help!

If you did not set up a VPN in your router as was suggested in your post back on Dec 17th, then consider deleting the app again, re-install app but don't scan a QR code this time, instead enter the LAN and WAN settings manually into the iOS app, insure you use the URL for WAN, including port, exactly as used in the PC browser that works over WAN.

Tony- I do plan to allocate some time and try to set up the VPN as suggested- though am still hoping to get a response from @Mike and get some remote support.

I will try deleting and reinstalling the app as suggested in the meantime and will let you know how I make out

Quick update. I did uninstall and reinstall the app, manually entering the credentials. Still could not get remote access to work- which I don't understand at all because the settings are exactly the same as in my remote laptop ui3 browser.

In any event- I ended up restoring my phone from a two day old backup and everything is working again.

I am looking at installing a ZeroTier network on both of my BlueIris servers - that seems to be a solid option from what I've researched, and will be a significant improvement in my network protection.

I just need to find some time in my day to do this- but hope to do so soon
