I fear 'wireless' security cameras aren't going away anytime soon. We live in a world where people are more willing to overpay $300 on a wifi router than pay somebody $100-200 to install a couple Ethernet cables that would do more good.

The range of products sold by trusted retailers and trusted brands as far as your average consumer (or a review site like this) is concerned is pretty disappointing. Just look at some of the junk cameras that pop up for sale on newegg.
