Installing NTSC firmware on PAL camera frame rate reset on reboot

I was having a problem with my IPC-HDW5231RP-Z. When I'd reboot the camera the frame rate would revert to 30 fps from 15. After reboot the fps still showed 15 on the web client but the camera was running at 30 fps. After a bit of testing I found I had introduced the problem when I installed the NTSC firmware version on my PAL camera. Once the video standard of the firmware matched (PAL in my case) the camera the problem was corrected.

** Update ** After additional testing it was determined not to be a firmware problem. I missed a delete browser cache step in my testing which caused me to erroneously classify this as a firmware error. I guess the take-away here is to make sure you properly delete browser cache when changing firmware or you can end up with unpredictable results when you make changes to your camera settings.

one has nothing to do with the other...ensure that you clear the browser cache and plugins then try again.

I had been deleting my browser cache between each firmware change but I'll give it another try and capture what I did via screenflow.

@fenderman Here's my test sequence,anything I should revise before I run through it?
1. install NTSC firmware on my PAL camera.
2. delete browser cache
3. logon to camera and perform factory reset
4. delete browser cache
5. logon to camera using factory IP address, change password & set network settings to use DHCP.
6. delete browser cache.
7. logon to camera with new IP address and set fps to 15. Confirm that fps is 15 via BI camera status page.
8. Perform camera reboot.
9. delete browser cache
10. View fps via BI camera status page (this is where it showed fps between 29-30).
11. Logon to camera and view video settings (this is where it showed 15)

I’ve run into the FPS issue you’re talking about above, but only with the latest firmware on the Dahua website. I’ve gone back and forth between PAL/NTSC a few times over the months before (with other firmware versions) and never ran into this issue.

Well....I tried but I couldn't reproduce it. Must have been what @fenderman said, I must have missed a cache delete in my first two test runs. I'm sure glad someone confronted me about this, I'd sure hate to misinform others. I'll delete this post tomorrow morning.
