What laptop brand, configurations, and hardware do you guys recommend for installers, and ones who run these cms applications constantly?

Not nearly enough information to make a proper suggestion. Budget? Use (indoor/outdoor?)

Simple answer is to get a ruggedized if you'll be working outdoors.

I use a Dell Latitude Rugged ..worth it if you are using outside all the time, the screen is better than my panasonic toughbook.
