Idmss push, how does it work?

Hi guys

Does anyone know how this is meant to work, can't get it to work and not sure what to look at.

I currently have idmss plus connected to my NVR via local IP address, will this work? Does it need any other kind of setup? Does it talk to a cloud somewhere as currently I don't allow any outbound from NVR and just for NTP.

I am eventfully looking to get this working through a VPN but need to understand how it is meant to work first.

Ok got it working via p2p but at moment have allowed outbound from the NVR which is not ideal for security reasons. Will need to figure out the port it needs to be allowed rather than have the NVR access to the internet.

Any security minded people do it any other way?

all "push notifications" of any kind go the 'cloud'.
