Hikvision Original vs OEM

I'm looking at buying a Hikvision DS-2CD2387G2-LU and wanted to know if there's much difference between the Original and OEM.

The OEM is around $50 cheaper but the seller says it cannot be upgraded. Is it worth spending an extra $50 just for upgrades?

Most of us go by the motto if it ain't broke don't fix it, so most of us do not update cameras if they are working and meet our needs as an update usually breaks something that was working.

But if it can't be updated that means it is probably a Chinese region camera that is hacked into English.

So it comes down to if the savings is worth it to you.

The seller is either inept or lying to you. If its simply a gray market camera with the same specs it can always be updated. If they say dont update - its a clue that they are selling an inferior china region locked model.
