HikVision IR Cube Install (Hide Cable?)

Every search I've tried about this question inevitably leads me to in-wall cabling topics.

I've recently purchased two HikVision IR Cube (DS-2CD2442FWD-IW) cameras for inside my house. I will be installing them on the ceiling in the corner of two different rooms. I've noticed that the base doesn't have any sort of routing for the POE cable to run through it up into the attic. Am I correct to assume the tidiest way to handle this situation is to simply drill a small hole next to the base to allow the Cat6 cable to run straight up into the attic?

Thanks for the help on this relatively minor issue.

Consider drilling a small, 3/8" hole for un-terminated cable, crimp on RJ-45 connector after puling through the cable.

BTW, if you drill a small pilot hole (1/8" ?) then the larger 3/8" hole with a step-bit ("Uni-Bit"), the plastic won't chip/shatter and the hole will be nice and smooth.
