Hikvision DS-2CD2355FWD-I 5MP 2.8mm

Hi all

Just purchased 2 x DS-2CD2355FWD-I 5MP 2.8mm from
Hikvision DS-2CD2355FWD-I 5MP Camera 2.8mm Metal Turret Vandalproof 81390802573 | eBay

Issue is that firmware is not upgrade able. Called up and they did advise me that they were.
Should I return them and replace them with a Hikvision DS-2CD2142FWD 4MP DOME IP CAMERA?

My primary concerns are that this firmware is V5.4.20 build 160726.
Is this vulnerable to the recent Hikvision hacks?
Would a VPN solve the vulnerability issue?

So on further reading it sounds like the general consensus is if my gray market cameras are set up with only VPN access then I should have no issues.
Does anyone know if Hik Connect or IVMS 4500 App can still receive push notifications?

I have a vpn server setup and the app receives notifications even with vpn not connected.

Cheers mate. Just wondering did you disable ezviz cloud? Just wondering what the camera relies on to send out push notifications "notify surveillance centre" function if I disable ez viz.

I do think I ever touched anything pertaining to ezviz. Just the notify surveillance center option.
