Evening all,

Thought I'd ask in here before giving up on this one, my googling has failed to assist.

Basically, I have a dome cam mounted vertically. The lens is pointing close to 90 degrees out (i.e. virtually straight out from the wall). Day time is perfect, night time the pic gets progressively worse. I'm led to believe this is IR bounce, and the foam ring appears in tact and the lens is not visibly dirty (it's all new).

Here's a couple of pics. Can anyone shed any light on the subject ? TIA.

Welcome @djh_wolf

Suggest testing with the dome off one night.

Dew sounds like a possibility, never thought. It's been late on (like, 11pm) before it seems to happen so haven'e been keen to go up some ladders then !

Thanks for the replies thus far = )

I've actually moved it to make it easier and installed more cams. So now the dome is at head height in the back garden, underneath a lean-to shelter. It's still the same now, as of midnight, so I'm not sure it's dew. This pic is current.

...so I'm going to try to clean the lens now.

and... after.

Jesus. That's all it was. Occam's Razor. still not the best, but to be honest the glass looks pretty scratched. It's never been used ! *agitation* Ah well, live and learn, eh ? = p
