Hi ipcamtalk people,

Do both the 2CD-2142FWD-I and 2CD-2145FWD-I hikvision cameras use hisilicon hi3516a chips?

Do they both share the same firmware?

Are there any other models of camera (Hikvision or not) that also use this hi3516a / hi3516d chipset that are popular on these forums? I was hoping to get one that has relatively easy console access, and easy access to the u-boot bootloader program.

Thanks for the advice!

2CD-2145FWD-I is a G1 think it runs on ambarella S3L (think there is also an R? series that also uses that chipset/s2l)
most G0's are hi3516a /d (there is a thread for easy shell access)

There are a few cams that use hi3516a and the full sdk is floating around the net.

Hi rearanger,

Thanks for the reply. Thanks for pointing out that the 2CD-2145FWD-I isn't based on the hi3516a.

So it appears that hikvision models with a "2" before the second set of letters are hi3516a based (G0 series).

Do you happen to know any specific models of other branded cameras that use the hi3516a?

Thanks again!

some dahua 's use that chipset There are loads..
there are a few Chinese unbranded.
Fairly common chipset , its fairly old now so its cheap.

Messing around with the u-boot on hiks is not easy (there is protection). Console/Shell access is fairly easy.
