So yesterday I did a lot of work to my cameras I have 2 DS-2CD2032F-I that I have setup in the cameras to record to smb/cifs I upgraded both cameras from Chinese versions to the latest versions using the brick method both went well I am now on V5.4.5 build 170123 with emails working properly!! 
Now I installed hik connect put in my verification code everything is going great apart from when I get an alert it has playback at the bottom but this is greyed out and unclickable?
Is it because I need a dvr or are they just images that ofc wont play not sure what the limits are anyone experienced with it?
