I've never seen this before. Came home to find BI using 38GB of memory...

PC was lethargic, and I was getting an "out of memory" error on my scanning software that runs in the background of the BI machine.

This was running 5.5.9.5. My system has 48GB of RAM.

BI is running as an app, not as a service, and I did have the console on full screen - something I normally never do.

Upon closing the console, the memory returned to normal. I've restarted the console, and so far it's staying around 8-10GB.

Any ideas what could be causing the memory to runaway like this?

Unstable version, graphic card memory leak, or DeepStack opening up too many instances are the usual culprits.

I'm hoping it's the first in your list. The memory card leak, I would think (?), would have shown itself by now. I'm not using deepstack at all, so I presume it cannot be that. I just bumped to the .9.6 version... I know, I know... Don't go cutting-edge latest version without expecting issues. I'm ok with being a bit of a Guinea pig. Just wondering if anyone else sees this as well.

I updated BI to 5.5.9.6 at 5:45 pm and didn't notice any significant change in CPU or memory use.

Just curious…. what app are you using to create these charts?
The data is being collected with the Hass Workstation Service running on my BI server. From there it is transferred via MQTT to an InfluxDB running within Home Assistant. The graphs are created using Grafana which is also running within HA.

Here's more info on the Hass Workstation Service.

back up to 28GB... Now on latest .9.6. Last time I just restarted the console. This time I'll try to reboot.

Well, within 36 hours, I'm at 99% memory used. I switched to service mode (vs app mode) and the problem has not returned in 3 days. So whatever is futching up my system, does it only when it's in the app mode.
