Help with playback of Hikvision clipped mp4 files

Hi,

I'm a relative newbie to cctv. Currently have a small setup based on Hikvision DS-7600 series NVR.

I must admit I'm not finding things the most intuitive.. and getting a bit frustrated with one challenge after another - of seemingly simple things.

I've finally been able to get mp4's clips created from the playback, however I now don't seem to be able to play these back using Windows Media player (windows 10).

I found the following thread and installed DSFilters (Hik MFPlugin 6.2.1.2), but still no success

Can anyone give me some guidance please?

Can you tell us what's the exact NVR model and firmware version? Also, how are you creating the mp4 files for playback? Are you downloading them from the NVR? Lastly, how are you connecting to the NVR, Web UI or local?

Web Version v4.0.1 build 150505
Plugin Version v3.0.5.40

I'm connecting to the NVR using the Web Interface using a PC running Windows 10, using Internet explorer running with Administrator privilege

I'm creating the mp4 from within the hikvision web interface on the playback tab and using the clipping tool which is creating the mp4 file.
I'm then opening the MP4 created by directly clicking on it from within Windows file explorer.

Try using Firefox browser to connect to the NVR and download the recorded video. Try to play the file with WMP to see if it works ok.
