Getting the hang of it

I just got my Cube in and I'm trying to set it up in BI. For some reason, my video in BI is choppy when there is motion. It looks like there are blocks are lines around the object in motion. The video does not look like this on the live feed on the Hikivision page so I'm assuming I messed up a BI setting. Also noticed the bitrate that BI is showing is much lower than what it's set at in the camera. Not sure if that is the issue. Here is a sample video and my current settings. Any help is appreciated.

A couple of things I would try:

On your second image change receive buffer to 20MB. Also uncheck combine or cut... in your 3rd image.

In the camera settings try changing your resolution to 1920x1080 and possibly bring down your bitrate to 6144. Leave the camera on its default exposure but keep noise reduction to 50% or less.

Finally, make sure your codecs are up to date: K-Lite Codec Pack - Update Pack

None of the above changed anything. Thanks for the suggestions.

I reverted everything to the original settings I had. Not sure what changed but after coming home from the grocery store it appears to be acting appropriately in BI.

you'll also want a non-zero pre-trigger buffer (at least 2-3 seconds) so as to fully capture the motion that triggered the recording.

DNR (noise reduction) at any setting can cause tearing and/or ghosting, so use with discretion (I usually run it 20% of at all...)

Yeah I understand that. It's set that way just for testing. I won't be recording with it just yet. Also the DNR is set at 5, just about all my cameras are. Doesn't look to be a typical ghosting issue. Either way, seems to be resolved for now.
