hard drive useage

I created a weather time lapse video using blue iris and a 4 mp hikvision camera. I transfered the mp4 file to my web site. The problem is the amount of space and time it takes to transfer an 8 hr time lapse. An eight hour time lapse is ~1gb and takes minutes to transfer to the web site. How can I shrink the file size. It has to be a mp4 file.

mp4 is already compressed. Reduce the time and reduce the frame rate. Get a faster internet upload speed.
