GE sold their microwave ovens (and maybe some other appliances, IDK) to Haier several years ago. I did not know this when, in 2000, I bought what I though was a GE because the old microwave had lasted 14 years. The POS, which I later found to be made by Haier, lasted less than 3 years. Pretty crappy for 3 people using it perhaps twice a day.
I have no problem NOT buying another Haier product in the future.
