I have a network question I'm hoping someone can help me with.
I share my neighbor's wifi by means of a repeater setup up as an extended network with a separate SSID and password. I thought this would hide my Google home seeing it is connected to my extender and not directly to his router. Apparently, I was wrong because when I directly connected to his router via my computer and opened an incognito window in chrome, I was able to see and cast to my Google home under the "cast option.
I assume I have to set the IP on a different range of IP from the main router so that only the people directly connected to the repeater have access to the Google home ( example main router 192.168.1.1 SR10000 192.168.2.1. I can not figure out what setting I need to change to accomplish this as whenever I change the extenders IP out of the range of the main routers IP like the example I gave, it says it must be in the same range ( or something to that effect). Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Under DHCP I have the options for client / server /disable / auto
